Mission / Purpose

Save-A-Heart
Foundation, Inc., is a non profit, tax-exempt (501c3), volunteer
organization, whose purpose is to raise money for life-saving cardiac
medical equipment. The organization has been in existence for over
30 years, during which time it has raised over 8 million dollars.
The monies have been used to purchase cardiac medical equipment
for hospitals, schools, police departments, volunteer fire companies,
and volunteer ambulance rescue companies. Donations have also been
used to establish cardiac care units in hospitals. All contributions
are tax deductible.
Background of our Organization

Founded
in 1971, by Bernard Sapperstein and a host of other Baltimoreans,
our membership has dedicated itself to saving heart attack victims.
Each founder experienced cardiac catheterization and open heart
surgery, either personally, or through the fear and anxieties of
a loved one suffering from heart disease.
